Acequias, the community-run irrigation ditches of New Mexico. And a fun movie about them, based on the book, The Milagro Beanfield War. The film was made just down the road from where I lived. A funny story is that they filmed in the fall, so there were no bean plants. They made paper bean plants – which you can tell, as the bean field was just too tidy!
